The Varun Dhawan-John Abraham-starrer, Dishoom, had adecent opening weekend as the film raked in around Rs 14 crore on 31 July, taking the three-day total to Rs 37 crore.

The film was expected to fare better over the weekend. However, the mixed response to the trailer dented the opening potential of the action bonanza.

Dishoom fared the best at Mumbai, Delhi and Gujarat while it failed to match up to Baaghi at the mass circuits.

Day-wise Box Office Collection for Dishoom:

  • Friday (29 July): Rs 11.05 crore
  • Saturday (30 July): Rs 12.03 crore
  • Sunday (31 July): Rs 14.00 crore (Early Estimate)
  • Total: Rs 37.07 crore (Early Estimate)

While the film displayed a growth over the weekend, the Box Office trend from 1 August on will determine the success of the film. The word of mouth surrounding the film is pretty mixed. However, with two weeks of a free run, it will be interesting to see how it fares in the second week.

The producers have already entailed profits (taking in to account the revenue from all sources) but the film is yet to break even theatrically.
