Tusshar Kapoor takes the surrogacy way to become a dad

Tusshar Kapoor has made an unconventional choice to become a father while he is still single. The actor has had a baby son, who has been named Laksshya, through a surrogate mother.

Tusshar says, "I am thrilled to be a father. The paternal instincts in me have been overpowering my heart and mind for some time now. Therefore, I am thrilled beyond words to have Laksshya, who is now the greatest source of joy in my life. By the greatness of God and the excellent medical team at Jaslok hospital, parenthood is an option for many, who choose to be single parents. I won't be able to tell you his day of birth but I can say that we just got him home a week back."

The actor did consider adopting. "I actually wanted to adopt but once when I was travelling by flight to Tirupati, Prakash Jha told me about the surrogacy process and so I went ahead with this process. Since I was reaching the age of 40, I felt the need to be a parent. All the legal formalities are done with regards to the baby. We will show the baby after three months because we feel that nazar lagti hain. We are not going to be celebrating soon but everyone from the industry has congratulated us -- including Karan Johar and Farah Khan."

Tusshar has the wholehearted support of his family. He says, "My sister has named him Laksshya and that's why the name has a double 's'. Laksshya's caretakers are my parents and sister Ekta. I am very happy because my boy looks like me."
