Milap Zaveri's Mastizaade is a story about two lookalikes, Laila and Lily, who fall in love with two sex addicts, Aditya and Sunny.

The movie stars Sunny Leone, Vir Das and Tusshar Kapoor in lead roles. Mastizaade, which claims to be Bollywood's naughtiest sex-comedy till date, is filled with stale gags and innuendos.

What may work for the film

Do you like Sunny Leone? How about two Sunny Leones? The actress is the only factor that can help Mastizaade register a good opening at the Box Office.

Well, that and if you like sexual jokes about bananas. Basically, Sunny Leone + Suresh Menon's hair + Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das's banana jokes = Mastizaade

What may not work for the film

The film has been promoted as a sex comedy. However, it fails to be funny. Mastizaade falls flat in just about every way possible. The dialogues are cringeworthy while the gags are predictable.

What's more, most of the jokes have been directly lifted from WhatsApp and SMS forwards.

Will it do well at the ticket window?

Grand Masti is the only sex comedy that has managed to do well at the Box Office.

There is a perception that sex comedies work wonders at the ticket window. However, Bollywood seems to have absolutely zero innovative gags in the adult comedy space. We suspect this might be because most of these 'sex comedies' have been written by the same guy - Milap Zaveri.

Mastizaade might not be able to perform well beyond the weekend.

Box-Office Prediction

  • Day One collections (29 January): Rs 6.5 crore
  • Weekend collections (30-31 January): Rs 17 crore
  • Week One collections: Rs 28 crore

After the first week, the film will barely collect a substantial amount. The film might end its Box Office run with collections of around Rs 32 to Rs 33 crore.
