Sadma remake: Has the Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor film been shelved?

Much has been said about the remake of 1983 classic, Sadma with Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor reprising the roles played by Kamal Haasan and Sridevi, respectively.

However, it has now emerged that ad filmmaker-turned-director, Llyod Baptista - who will be helming the remake - may have to put his plans on hold for now.

According to reports, actress Kareena Kapoor - said to be the first choice to reprise Sridevi's critically-acclaimed role - has opted out of the film. The Ki and Ka actress said:

"I was approached for the film but I am not doing that film".

On being asked if the film is still on cards with some other actress, Kareena said, "I don't know if they are making the film anymore now".

According to reports, Sridevi's role was especially written for Kareena and now that she has backed out, the makers have put things on hold.
