Ayushmann Khurrana makes blunder on same-sex marriage in India; apologises for ‘genuine’ slip

Ayushmann Khurrana, who is known for his unconventional role, and ready to surprise his fans with another film i.e. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan on the big screen. He has been applauded for the subject that he has chosen. But, his knowledge of the subjects seems to be less which made him apologize to his fans.

Recently, Dream Girl actor claimed that same-sex marriages had been legalized in the country. His wrong statement brought him on the radar of trollers.


In 2018, the Supreme court of India had only decriminalized homosexuality in India rather than legalizing the marriage.

Ayushmann made this blunder on Tuesday while speaking to the media. He said: “We are really proud that we are supporting the community. Our country is very progressive that it legalized same-sex marriages.”

Natheless, Ayushmann is one of those actors who never feel shy to express his views on any topic. After making this gaffe, the Badhaai Ho actor came forward to admit his mistake and apologized for it on Twitter.

 

He wrote, “A genuine slip here though I really wish same-sex marriages get legal in India.”

Talking about his work front, Ayushmann will play the role of a homosexual man in his upcoming film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. The film plot is about how a man attempted to convince his boyfriend’s parents to accept their relationship as natural without seeing homosexuality differently.

The movie is directed by Hitesh Kewalya which includes Ayushmann, Jitendra Kumar, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta among others. The film will hit the silver screens on February 21.
