Salman Khan to return Rs 35 crores to Tubelight distributors

That's the amount Salman has apparently decided to give as compensation after Tubelight’s debacle

 Salman Khan’s movie Tubelight release on Eid this year came  with high expectations. However, it did not do well at the box office and some of the single screen distributors and exhibitors reached out to the actor for compensation as they lost lot of money. Salman’s father Salim Khan had said in the interviews that Salman has agreed to pay money to distributors and exibitors some time ago. Now it is said that the actor is going to give then Rs. 35 crores to them.

 Tubelight also had Sohail Khan  and it was directed by Kabir Khan. It was made on approximately Rs. 100 crore budget. . In the four weeks of release it has earned Rs.114.56 crore in India. The film was released on more than 4000 screens in India and was expected to break many box office records but it tanked. 

 It is said that now distributors and exhibitors are hoping that Shah Rukh Khan too follows Salman's example  and pays them for their losses after Jab Harry Met Sejal’s poor box office performance.
