T Series V/s Zee Music: Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo music rights sold at a record price

The Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will be this year's Diwali release, marking the comeback of Sooraj Barjatya, whose last directorial venture was Vivaah, 10 years ago. Not surprisingly, the film is already creating records, with its music rights which have been sold to T Series for Rs 17 crore, making it the highest ever for any film.

Two leading music banners, Zee Music and T Series were competing to buy the music of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Finally, T Series won the battle. The music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya who has come up with some evergreen albums like Namaste London, Tere Naam and many more.

The album of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will comprise 9 original sound tracks and Reshammiya has roped it some renowned singers as well. Initially, the makers had plans to launch the songs way before its theatrical trailer. However, as the music deal was not sealed, they had to drop the plan.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo stars Salman Khan (in double role), Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Deepak Dobriyal, Swara Bhaskar and Arman Kohli in pivotal roles.
