At the grand trailer launch event Sonam Kapoor was asked about the her experience working with Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya, and she said,

"I am very privileged to have been cast opposite Salman Khan in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Everybody in media except for Salman Khan know that I have been a huge fan if his since a really long time. I was a bit nervous and intimidated by Salman's presence on the sets. However, after the first day, I was very comfortable shooting for the film as Sooraj sir gave me so much love that it didn't feel like shooting for the film, rather it was like shooting with family."

Talking about the task of managing many people on the sets of the film, director Sooraj Barjatya said,

"I have been a part of a big joint family, so things become easier to manage things while shooting for a film. I know how to manage Salman Khan, how to wake him up. Jokes apart, while making a family film, the entire atmosphere on the sets become like a family. I feel family films work in a big way in India."
