Rio Olympics 2016: And Salman Khan is our goodwill ambassador!

Bollywood actor, Salman Khan has come on board to be the goodwill ambassador of the 2016 summer Olympics, officially known as Games of the XXXI Olympiad and commonly known as Rio Olympic 2016.

Khan will be the Goodwill Ambassador of the Indian Contingent at Rio Olympics 2016 which is scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 5 August to 21 August 2016. 206 countries are expected to participate in the summer bonanza including India and more than 10,500 athletes are expected to represent their country at the Olympics.

With 306 sets of medals, the game will feature 28 sports which include Rugby Sevens and Golf. But this isn't a first for Salman. Back in 2009, he was named the Football Ambassador of India by the All India Football Federation to promote the sport in India.

Salman has been associated with various sports including cycling and swimming throughout his acting career. Very few know this but the actor was a national level swimming champion in his schooling days.
