Critically acclaimed actress Radhika Apte talked about her character opposite actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in their upcoming film Manjhi-The Mountain Man. Revealing the reason behind accepting the script, Apte mentioned that she found the story of the film very inspiring and therefore, couldn't resist being a part of it.

In the film, Radhika plays the love interest and wife of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The Ketan Mehta directorial is loosely based on the life of a poor labourer from Bihar, Dashrath Manjhi, who carved a path through a mountain using only a hammer and chisel.

"It's an inspiring story and I wanted to be part of it. I was like 'I had to get this part'," Radhika explained during the trailer launch of the film.

The Hunterrr star said her co-star Nawazuddin used to look aloof before doing the romantic scenes in the film.

"Ahead of romantic scenes he used to be very quiet...aloof... Sitting in one corner. I used to ask our director (Mehta) 'Why he is not talking to me... He doesn't like me?' But the moment the director used to say action, Nawaz would come in romantic avatar," the actress added.

After garnering a lot of appreciation with its trailer, Manjhi-The Mountain Man is releasing next month.
