After Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the nepotism debate has demarcated the film industry. Some people believed nepotism is wrong while some are supporting. Amid this hot debate, Alia Bhatt’s elder sister Pooja Bhatt has joined the bandwagon and slammed people who are accusing her family for encouraging nepotism in the industry.

In a series of tweets, Sadak actress wrote that their production house, Vishesh Films, has launched talented people, including Kangana Ranaut.

While talking about Kangana, who kickstarted nepotism debate, “As for Kangana Ranaut - She is a great talent, if not she wouldn’t have been launched by Vishesh films in 'Gangster'. Yes, Anurag Basu discovered her, but Vishesh Films backed his vision & invested in the film. No small feat. Here’s wishing her the very best in all her endeavours (sic).”

Pooja Bhatt also posted tweets on the hot topic that escalated after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

She wrote, "Have been asked to comment on the hot topic Nepotism that people are raging about. As someone who hails from a ‘family’ that has launched more new talent-actors, musicians & technicians, than the entire film industry combined, I can only laugh. Facts don’t find takers. Fiction does (sic)."

The filmmaker also mentioned that their production house upcoming film Sadak 2 has also given an opportunity to outsiders.

"Even #Sadak2 gives birth to a brand new talent in the form of @Suniljeet72 A music teacher from Chandigarh who came to our office with no prior appointment, a dream, a harmonium & a brilliant song called 'Ishq Kamaal' that was absorbed into the film on first hearing by my father (sic)."

Pooja also made her point clear that nepotism is just a word that is used for tarnishing one’s image.

“Toh yeh 'Nepotism' shabd se kissi aur Ko zalil karne ki koshish karo doston (So, use the word nepotism to insult anyone else). The people who have found their way into the movies through the springboard we provided over the decades know what we stand for. And if they have forgotten, it’s their tragedy. Not ours. Have a great day! (sic),” she added.

After Dil Bechara actor’s death, Alia Bhatt and other big stars in Bollywood have received backlash on social media for spreading nepotism. Recently, Sushant’s brother-in-law also created an app called ‘Nepometer’ which will measure how nepotistic a film is.

Alia’s Sadak 2 has been rated 98 percent on the meter.

Sadak 2 is the sequel of Pooja Bhatt’s 1991 film Sadak, which stars Alia Bhat, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Pooja Bhatt, and Sanjay Dutt.
