After much agitation, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial film 'Padmaavat' finally released on Thursday, January 25. The film has been in the news since the day it was announced and the makers have put in their best efforts to ensure that nobody gets hurt while watching the film but the Rajput Karni Sena took their protest to a mass level by destroying many theatres, cars, buses and effegies but looking at the box office collection of the film, it does not seem that the film is getting affected by any of these.
The film Padmaavat that starrs Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles managed to earn Rs 19 Crore on the box office on day 1 of its release. The news was given by Taran Adarsh, a popular trade analyst on his Twitter account read as, “Despite non-screening in few states and protests/disturbances, #Padmaavat fares VERY WELL on Day 1... Had it been a peaceful/smooth all-India release, the biz would’ve touched ₹ 28 / ₹ 30 cr... Wed [limited preview screenings] 5 cr, Thu 19 cr. Total: ₹ 24 cr. India biz.”
People were confused as to wether they should or should not go to the theatres to watch the film but looking at the Box office collections of the second day, it seems as if people took a stern step by going out to the theatres and making the shows housefull. The movie collected as many as Rs 32 Crores at the box office on the second day of its release.
Trade analyst. Taran Adarsh, took to his Twitter account and shared the news with a tweet that read, "#Padmaavat has a HUMONGOUS Day 2... Had it been a smooth release [some states are not screening the film], the all-India biz would’ve touched ₹ 40 cr... Wed 5 cr, Thu 19 cr, Fri 32 cr. Total: ₹ 56 cr. India biz… SUPERB!"

The movie has faced a lot of protests from people all over the country. The movie was cleared by CBFC with few changes that also included the change in the title of the film from 'Padmaavati' to 'Padmaavat'. The movie was earlier supposed to release on December 1 but it finally got released on January 25.
Earlier few states ban the release of the film due to its story between Deepika and Ranveer but the Supreme Court gave an order that the movie will not be banned and will be released all over the country.
