Sarbjit trailer: Whose biopic is it anyway? Aishwarya Rai Bachchan steals the show

The much-awaited trailer of Omung Kumar, Sarbjit is out. While the features Randeep Hooda in the titular role, the trailer seems to be all about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - who plays the character of Sarbjit's sister in the film.

The film is based on the life of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian national who died in a Pakistani jail after being convicted of terrorism. However, few can argue that despite this, the three-minute long trailer seems to be focused entirely on Aishwarya.

Actress Richa Chadda, who plays Sarbjit's wife in the film also makes an appearance in the trailer and an intense one at that, albeit for a few seconds.

With the film, director Omung Kumar attempts to bring the brutal treatment meted out to Sarabit Singh during his 25-year-long jail term to the silver screen. But let's hope that unlike the trailer, Sarbjit the film manages to focus on its subject.

Sarbjit is set for release on 20 May. Watch the trailer here:
