The rumour mills are abuzz with reports that Arbaaz Khan is in talks with Parineeti Chopra to play the female lead opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg 3.

There are also reports that the film will be a prequel to Dabangg and that it will focus on how Salman's much-loved character, Chulbul Pandey, became the tough cop that viewers met in the 2010 film.

However, our sources close to the development have quashed all the rumours.

"Arbaaz Khan and Dilip Shukla (writer) are brainstorming for Dabangg 3. However, they are yet to come up with an idea that would justify the third part. They are in no hurry to make part 3 and the film will be announced only once the script is locked," said a source.

When asked about the reports that the makers of the Dabangg franchise want to replace Sonakshi Sinha with Parineeti Chopra, the source said: "How can one decide the star-cast without a script?"

Dabangg (2010), starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, marked the beginning of Salman's golden run at the Box Office. It was Khan's first film that raked in over Rs 100 crore at the Box Office.
