National Film Awards 2019: Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal receive Best actor award

National Film Awards 2019

One of the most prestigious awards of India, National Film Awards 2019 took place in Delhi today at Vigyan Bhawan. The award was presented by India’s Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in the presence of Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar. At the ceremony, many Bollywood celebs were present to receive the honour including, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Akshay Kumar among others.

In the ceremony, Vicky and Ayushman received the award for Best Actor for the film Uri: The Surgical Strike and Adhadhun respectively. The Best Director award was given to Aditya Dhar for Uri while the Adhadhun received the title for the Best Film. Akshay Kumar’s PadMan won the award for Best Film on Other Social Issues category.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan who was not able to attend the National Award ceremony due to health issues despite being in Delhi received Dadasahed Phalke Award. One of the highest civilian awards comprises of a golden lotus medallion with a shawl and cash prize worth Rs 10,00,000.
