Mirzya trailer: Expect visually stunning cinema from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra this time

It's grand and unlike anything that filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has offered before.

Catch got an exclusive glimpse of the trailer of Mirzya, Mehra's upcoming film, featuring Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher in the lead.

As revealed in the video, Mirzya is a love story but is not a quintessential Bollywood one. The makers of the film have deliberately not given away anything about the plot-line in the video. May be that's the reason why one can't make out whether it's a period drama or a modern day love story.

The close to three-minutes video shows larger-than-life action sequences with Harshvardhan riding a horse to climbing hills in the rain.

Mehra's films, whether Delhi 6, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag or Rang De Basanti, have shown real locations as sets. However, Mirzya looks stunning visually. The scale grandeur in the film might even surpass the magnum opus setting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali films.

Another highlight of the trailer is its music. While no songs have been introduced in the video, the background score, composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, and the vocals of Daler Mehndi are enchanting.

The story of the film has been penned down by Gulzar.

The trailer of Mirzya will be launched tonight at the IIFA 2016 Rocks event, while it'll be dropped online at around 11: 00 pm.

Produced by Rohit Khattar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, P.S. Bharathi and Rajiv Tandon under Cinestaan Film Company and ROMP Pictures, Mirzya is slated to hit the screens on 7 October.
