Karisma-Sunjay divorce: Sister Kareena Kapoor speaks out for the first time

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor share a deep sibling bond. And for Kareena, it has become even more important to support her sister during this phase of her life.

Karisma is currently in entangled in an ugly divorce battle with her estranged husband Sunjay Kapur and the case is getting murkier by the day. However, Kareena is insisting that the only thing she would like to say on the issue is that she has tremendous love and respect for her sister.

During one of the promotional events of her upcoming film, Ki and Ka, the actor made a rather emotional statement about her sister. She said that while she has always kept mum on the issue, she will stand by Karisma during this difficult time.

Kareena's statement reads:

"It's a difficult time for her (Karisma) and it is tough. I have never really spoken about it. I am very protective about my sister. I hold her with too much respect and regard. Whatever has been written about it or whatever has been said about her, both Karisma and I have never said anything, and I would like to always maintain that."
