Karan Johar's obsession with Alia Bhatt continues; signs her for a film opposite Shah Rukh Khan

When Karan Johar announced Karan Malhotra's dream project, Shuddhhi, with Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, he said that the film requires mature actors. However, after both opted out of Shuddhhi, Karan signed two young stars, in Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

In fact, Alia Bhatt seems to be something of an obsession for Karan, who has signed her on innumerable occasions since launching her, along with Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, in Student of the Year (2013).

After Student of the Year, Varun began signing films with other banners, but Alia and Sidharth seem to work only with Karan's Dharma Productions. Especially Alia, who worked with Dharma for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania with Varun Dhawan, and seems to have been signed for every film emerging from Karan's production house in the future.

Shuddhhi is one. There's also Kapoor and Sons, a love triangle, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan. And here's the ultimate shocker: Karan has paired Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in Gauri Shinde's next film. Alia is about the same age as Shah Rukh's older son.

Alia will also star with Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Mukerji's superhero trilogy, and will be seen on screen this October in Shaandaar, co-produced by Dharma Productions.

And then there's Karan's partnership with Alia as 'hosts' of the new English language television channel, Colors Infinity.

The only Dharma film for which Karan Johar has not signed Alia Bhatt is Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Is Alia the only good actress in Bollywood? Please correct us if we are wrong.
