The makers are apparently concerned about the budget due to the ongoing strike of cine employees.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati which features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor is currently being shot in Mumbai. The huge set has been erected but since Federation of Western India Cine Employees have gone on a strike since past one week, the shoot has been halted.  A source says, " Padmavati is a huge project and it has been delayed due to various reasons in the past.  So the makers are bit anxious about the strike.  They do not really wish to see the project going over budget as they have already spent lot of money on it. "

Bhansali is known to shoot films on a grand scale and the makers said to have asked him to cut down on extra expenses as they do not want the film and rest of shoot to get affected.

Not so long back Bhansali's film shoot was cancelled in Rajasthan because Rajput Karni Sena's objection over possiblity of portrayal of  romance between Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji's character. Later the director chose to shoot the film in the interiors of Maharashtra instead of Rajasthan.
