Is Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil inspired by Salman Khan's Buland?

Rakesh Roshan's next production venture Kaabil will star Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam in the lead. The producer revealed that the film has a very gripping script along with all the commercial elements of a Box Office blockbuster.

Slated to go on floors in April at Mumbai, the movie will be shot from start to finish in one go. According to media reports, the film is unofficially inspired of Salman Khan's shelved film, Buland. In the mid-90's, Khan and his former flame, Somy Ali were paired in romantic thriller, Buland, which later failed to materialise.

The film was supposed to tell the story of a man who avenges the rape and murder of his girlfriend and loses his eyesight in the process. The Kaabil-Buland comparison has been fuelled by reports that Hrithik's character in the film also loses his eyesight - much like Salman's character in Buland.

It looks like Yami Gautam will reprise the role of the love interest who is killed midway into the plot - much like her character in the 2015 Varun Dhawan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui revenge drama, Badlapur.

Sanjay Gupta has roped in Sonu Sood for a pivotal role in the film. The movie is slated to release on 26 January 2017, along with Ajay Devgn's Baadshaho.
