Salman Khan's upcoming wrestling drama, Sultan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, has been shot at Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.

The crew also shot at Morana in the Muzaffarnagar district for four days where Yash Raj Films recreated a set in Haryana for a few pivotal sequences.

The decision to shoot for the film in Uttar Pradesh has helped the production house get a tax exemption in the state as Minister Of State (Independent Charge) (Entertainment Tax), Madan Chauhan believes that the move will encourage more filmmakers to shoot in UP.

Amar Ujala quoted the Chauhan as saying, "We want more and more films to be shot at Uttar Pradesh and the film-makers will get complete support from the government. Since Salman Khan shot for Sultan at Morana, the film will get a tax-free status. The film will get the tax benefit not just at the multiplexes but we will come up with a special scheme even for single screen theatres."
