Has Kareena Kapoor's pregnancy news upset Veere Di Wedding producers? Rhea Kapoor answers

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have announced that they are expecting their first child in December. While congratulations poured in for the couple, many in the industry also wondered why they chose to keep the news under wraps for so long.

Kareena will enter into her second trimester in September. The actress has not signed any other project this year apart from Rhea Kapoor's chic flick, Veere Di Wedding. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. Kareena will wrap up her part of the shooting by September and then leave for a long holiday.

As soon as news of the pregnancy broke, reports were rife that the producers of Veere Di Wedding were upset with Kareena. However, producer Rhea Kapoor has finally issued a statement on the issue. In conversation with a leading daily, she said:

"Ekta Kapoor and I, with our families and companies, are delighted and excited for Kareena and Saif. As producers of Veere Di Wedding, we are thrilled to be part of their special journey. Bebo is a thorough professional and will start shooting in August. Much like the spirit of our film, which celebrates the modern girl, Kareena is going on with her work and life as usual and we couldn't be prouder to have her (on board)."
