He is known as the sanskaari babuji of the industry. He is the soul of several Indian family sagas. Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Pardes, Hum Sath Sath Hain, Vivah, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, and Jeena Sirf Mere Liye amongst many others -- films testimony to the fact that he is the best babuji out there.
Apart from films, Alok Nath has done several TV shows as well donning the same babuji avatar. Rishte-Naate, Daane Anaar Ke, Rishety, Kabhie Kabhie, Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai -- most of his popular TV shows too had him essay the character of babuji or the most senior member of the family.
The actor also remains one of the most trolled personalities on social media. It all started in December 2014, when the Twitterati moved on to babuji's after trolling Rajnikanth, ACP Pradyuman, Sir Ravendra Jadeja, and Arnab Goswami.
The sporty babuji that he is, he took both funny and not-so-funny jokes with ease and said:
"When I got to know that I am trending, I was shocked initially and was wondering why am I trending for no reasons as I am not on Twitter or any other social networking sites. Only when my son told me that nothing serious has happened and jokes based on me are trending, I took a sigh of relief. I am happy that people are spending time on creating jokes on me. I am taking the entire thing very positively and in fact enjoying the attention. I have suddenly become very very very important person."
As he turns 60 today on 10 July, here are 17 most funny memes celebrating our sanskaari babuji:
