Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has been signed as the face of PM Narendra Modi's Save The Girl Child campaign in her home state Haryana. The campaign 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign was launched on 21 July, 2015 by the Chief Minister of the state, Manohar Lal Khattar.

The actress who was last seen opposite Ranveer Singh in 2014 Bollywood release Kill Dil has carried a bold persona always.

Especially, with all her on screen characters, Parineeti has been conveying several nuances of women empowerment.

Here are her five films that shows she indeed stands out as a strong woman

1. Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011)

The actress played the character of Dimple Chaddha who makes it a point to take revenge from a man who cons her by fooling her in romance. She unites with three other women to execute the plan and eventually becomes successful. It was Parineeti's first on screen appearance and the one that got widely appreciated. Largely due to the bubbly yet powerful aura that she carried.

2. Ishaqzaade (2012)

The story had Parineeti Chopra playing a Muslim girl Zoya Qureshi, who falls in love with a Hindu boy. Her ambition is to contest elections and she moves around the city driving a jeep. Zoya makes the bold choice of marrying a man who is not from her religion despite the fierce opposition from the entire community and the family.

3. Shhudh Desi Romance (2013)

The entire film was based on the rather debatable subject of 'believing in the institution of marriage'. Parineeti plays a runaway bride who is scared of getting married. Even when she finds the right guy, she decides not to marry him but settle for an unconventional relationship based on equality and not bound by commitment.

4. Hasee Toh Phasee (2014)

She plays Meeta Solanki, a girl with strange habits but ultra genius geek. Meeta steals from her father and runs away to pursue her dreams of becoming a scientist. She comes back, apologises to her father and the entire family and unlike a typical Bollywood heroine solves all problems using her intelligence.

5. Daawat-E-Ishq (2014)

The film stars Parineeti as a Hyderabadi girl Gulrez "Gullu" Qadir. An MBA, Gullu is a highly ambitious girl. She gets frustrated when several suitors reject her as her father is not able to pay a hefty dowry. She plots a con job on a suitor, to both teach dowry seekers a lesson and collect money to secure her future. The film bombed at the Box Office because many thought that the message in the film was lost in an overstreched plot.
