Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is not a man of many words. Maybe because his opulent, detail-oriented films do most of the talking for him.
However, the acclaimed actor recently opened up about actress Kareena Kapoor leaving his 2013 hit Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
The film, that ultimately featured Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the lead, was one of the most anticipated films that year, mostly owing to the number of changes in its starcast before Ranveer and Deepika were cast opposite each other.
It is widely known that Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were finalised as the main leads for Ram Leela. The two also did a photoshoot for the film before news broke that Kareena would no longer be a part of the project.

While nobody seems to know what led to her abrupt exit from the magnum opus, Bhansali recently told a leading daily about how he ended up picking Deepika to play the role.
The daily quoted the director as saying, "The set was made already, and it was shocking - her (Kareena Kapoor's) exit 10 days before shooting".
"So, I went to Deepika. She was unwell and she had fever. And she was beautiful. The neck was so long and those watery, gorgeous eyes! I thought, what is this girl all about?" Bhansali said.
Well, that's Bollywood for you!
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next project is reportedly set to release in December 2017.
