Fan: Did you know that Yash Chopra narrated the script to Shah Rukh Khan?

Shah Rukh Khan has finally revealed how his next film, Fan came about. He said that the late filmmaker Yash Chopra had conceived the storyline for Fan - which chronicles the ill-fated adventures of a successful actor and his doppelganger, an obsessed fan. Shah Rukh said he was happy that to be able to finally breathe life into the ace filmmaker's idea.

The Dilwale star made the revelation during an episode of Colors' show Comedy Nights Bachao. He said:

"Very few people know that the concept of Fan was first narrated to me by Yashji about 10 years ago. While I was excited to explore the idea back then, for some reason it never happened. Today, I'm glad we could bring his idea to life".

Shah Rukh, who worked with Yash Chopra in films like Darr, Dil To Pagal Hai, Veer-Zaara and his last directorial, Jab Tak Hai Jaan said that the late filmmaker's absence was strongly felt during the shoot of the movie.

The Yash Raj Films production, directed by Maneesh Sharma, has been shot at various locations in Mumbai, Croatia and Delhi. The film will take a closer look at the life of a celebrity and will be peppered with the darker side of fame and obsession.

Fan is set to hit the screens on 15 April.
