Everyone knows that Sidharth Malhotra comes from a non-filmy family and despite that, he had got a chance to be launched from Bollywood's famous producer Karan Johar's film Student of the year. However, whenever it comes to the beginning of Sidharth's career, then we always have been told that he started modelling and then assisted Karan in My Name is Khan and that's how he got Student of the Year, but recently Sidharth has revealed something interesting that his connection with Karam is much older than My Name is Khan.
These days Sidharth Malhotra is busy in the promotions of his upcoming film Ittefaq and recently in a media interaction he discussed his struggle before entering the films. Sidharth said that "It was not easy to get a Karan Johar's film even I had faced a struggle. As I come from a comfort family background but I also have fought small things in my daily life. But I never thought of going back as I wanted to prove myself first then anyone other."
Talking about his journey with Dharma productions, Sidharth Malhotra said, "Yes surely I was a lucky to meet a friend who suggested me to do a job of an assistant director more than doing auditions as it will connect me more to the camera and people than the auditions. Then I started going productions houses for the assistant director job but they thought I had come there for auditions (Laugh)."
However, in the whole conversation, Sidharth revealed something interesting that My Name is Khan was not his first ad job film. He said, "No, many people thought it was but it didn't, I worked in Dostana for a bit too but yes My Name is Khan was totally a film school for me. Then, I auditioned for Student of the Year and I got lucky to be a part of it."
