Speed News Desk | Updated on: 14 August 2017, 16:52 IST

Federation of Western India Cine Employees have called for an indefinite strike from tomorrow

All Film and Television workers, technicians and artistes have decided to stop working from August 15onwards. Nearly 2, 50,000 employees are going on strike as their various demands are not getting fulfilled. According to the association, there is a long list of pending demands, such as fixed working hours, getting payments on time and safety, hygiene standards etc, which are yet to be met.

Two years ago the workers went on strike and many shoots were affected. Finally the producers agreed to their demands but the members of the organisation claim the promises are still not fulfilled, and that is the reason why they are forced to again go on strike.

It is said if the issue is not sorted then the shoots of many films such has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, Shah Rukh Khan’s film with Anand L. Rai and many ongoing television shows will be affected.
