Chhapaak trailer out: Deepika Padukone as acid attack survivor will shake up your soul!
The much-awaited trailer of Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming directorial Chhapaak film’s trailer is out now. The film is based on the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and her fight for justice. Deepika Padukone has played a pivotal role of acid attack survivor as Malti.
Along with Deepika, Vikrant Massey also stars in the pivotal role of Malti’s husband, who is a real-life partner Laxmi, Alok Dixit.
The 2.19 minute-long trailer has depicted the journey and struggle of Laxmi Agarwal, who was the victim of acid attack. The challenges that she faced for getting justice will surely shake up your soul.
The trailer has launched on World Human Rights Day on 10 December.
During the trailer launch event, Meghna Gulzar said, “This film is relevant in today’s times given the situation of women in the country right now. I’m happy that Deepika Padukone has given her face for Malti and completely let Malti take over her.”
On the other hand, Deepika has seen teary-eyed during the event and said that this is the most special film of her career. “I’m lost for words,” Chhapaak actress said.
Chhapaak was announced earlier this year and went on floors in March 2019. Several inside pictures and video from the film’s set have also surfaced the Internet. Also, Deepika’s first official look also went viral.
Chhapaak backed by Fox Star Studios and the movie is slated to release on January 10, 2019.
