Box office: Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 scores well

Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer Judwaa 2 released last week. The film was expected to do well considering it was released on extended holiday weekend. In first four days the film has managed to collect Rs.77.25 crore, in spite of receiving average reviews. Judwaa 2 is remake of David Dhawan’s hit film, which starred Salman Khan in double role. It released in large number of screens 3500 plus in India and 625 overseas. It has been on Rs. 80 crore and has already entered in the list of top five highest grossing films of the year.

Since next two weeks there are no big releases, apart from Saif Ali Khan’s Chef, Judwaa 2 is expected to have a good run at box office till Diwali.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao’s Newton which released on September 22, have been doing well even though Judwaa 2, has large number of screens across India. The film has managed to earn Rs. 16.15 so far.

Next week Saif’s Chef will have box office clash with Zareen Khan, Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla starrer Aksar 2 and Raai Laxmi starrer Julie 2
