Box-Office: Raees opens with a good response; Kaabil is average

Shah Rukh Khan's Raees has opened with a bang at the Box-Office as the early morning shows across the country have recorded occupancy of 55% to 60%.

Despite a non-holiday release, the audiences have come out in huge numbers to watch the gangster drama and the movie is now targeting an opening day number of Rs 20 crore. Early reports suggest occupancy better than Dangal at several mass centres whereas multiplexes too are pretty good.

On the other hand, Kaabil has recorded an average start at the ticket window with occupancy close to 25%. Being a multiplex film, the biz is likely to witness an upward trend in the evening shows which would help it touch the coveted double digit number. The film should have recorded a better start at the ticket window given the pre-release buzz however it seems that Kaabil is initially overpowered by Raees Mania.
