STORY

Badhaai Ho film

The film stars with the introduction of the Kaushik family, led by Jeetendra Kaushik (Gajraj Rao), who lives with his wife Priyamvada (Neena Gupta), elder son Nakul (Ayushmann Khurrana), the younger son, and mother (Surekha Sikri). The family is like a normal middle-class family that deals with day to day situations. Their life changes when the family got to know their Priyamvada is pregnant at the age 50s. Obviously, that is awkward for the sons and they started treating their parents badly and taunting.

In between all these incidents, Nakul also introduced his girlfriend and colleague Raine (Sanya Malhotra). In an awkward situation, when all the neighbours and relatives are making fun of the elderly couple in between Nakul finds a way to get all the things right and make his family happy.

DIRECTION

Badhaai Ho film

Amit Ravindernath Sharma is a very known ad filmmaker and he made his Bollywood directorial debut with Tever starring Manoj Bajapyee, Arjun Kapoor, and Sonakshi Sinha. Although, the film turned out a flop but Amit Sharma was appreciated for the narrative direction. Now this time Amit has come up with a middle-class family based story that connects with every middle-class person.

Talking about, Badhaai Ho's direction then Amit Sharma has taken care of every single bit frame of the film, especially all the small things that make you connect with the family. From one-liners to some scenes that you will get to see in some of the middle-class family marriages is really amazing. Amit has given all the elements of entertainment in the film from comedy, drama, emotions to all. Really one of the finest comedy and family drama film in the recent past. This time Amit Sharma is on the top notch with his direction.

PERFORMANCES

Badhaai Ho film

Ayushmann Khurrana is really making his own place in the film industry with a different choice of films. He plays the role of a young Delhi boy Nakul who belongs from a middle-class family. From his comedy to maturity all skills of him as an actor are brilliant in this film. There are some scenes where even you once will say that you need a brother, son, boyfriend like him. He plays the most idol family man in this film.

Sanya Malhotra plays the role of Nakul's girlfriend Raine who is rich but is truly in love with Nakul. Sanya has not much to do in her role as the film revolves around Kaushik family but in some romantic and comedy scenes, she is nice.

Neena Gupta is at the perfect notch and she gives you the vibes of a middle-aged mother of the middle-class family who is the strong pillar of every family. Her scenes with Ayushmann Khurrana are really heartwrenching.

While other actors like Gajrao Rao, Surekha Sikri, Sheeba Chaddha and others are amazing in their performances. Maybe there is anyone who has not been good with their roles. The film is really perfect with the casting.

MUSIC

There are four songs in the film, one is title track Badhaiya Tenu, that comes at various phases. Second is Sajan Bade Senti, it is a peppy Shaadi track. Nain Na Jodee is a sad song sung by Ayushmann himself. Fourth, Morni Banke is the climax song that comes in the numbering. All in all, music is fine.

VERDICT

The is a perfect family ride and it has all the emotions that make this film a totally an entertainer. Go Watch it.
