Ashutosh is apparently in talks with studios for his next
Ashutosh Gowarikar has recently announced his plans of making a film on classical singer Gauhar Jaan a few days ago when he declared that he has bought rights of the book from author Vikram Sampath. A source says, “Ashutosh has been working on his next film for a long time. He has even recently spoke about it and said that within few weeks, he is likely to make the formal announcement of his upcoming film, though he did not confirm the casting or the subject. Ashtuosh apparently is now looking for a producer to back his film but is finding it hard as his last film could not do well at box office.”
His last film, Mohenjo Daro, starred Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde, and had received mixed reaction from industry and critics. But it could not garner enough money as it also clashed with Akshay Kumar’s Rustom, which went on to become a hit.
Reportedly Gowarikar has signed Hrithik Roshan once again for his next film but details of this project have not been out. Meanwhile the director is yet to confirm whether he will first make a film with Hrithik separately and then begin work on Gauhar Jaan or not.
