Akshay Kumar's Rustom has managed to show a huge growth in collections over the opening weekend as the total stands at an impressive Rs 50 crore.

The film, which released on 2,300 screens in India, recorded an occupancy of around 85 to 90 % in the metros. However, as expected, the mass circuits did not pitch in support. The film fared the best in Mumbai due to the local flavour and Delhi owing to Akshay Kumar's Box-Office pull.

Day Wise Collections:

  • Friday: Rs 14.11 crore
  • Satuday: Rs 16.43 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 19.50 crore (Early Estimate)
  • Total: Rs 50.10 crore (Early Estimate)

The film has recorded the fourth biggest opening weekend of the year after Sultan (Rs 107 crore), Housefull 3 (Rs 53.31 crore) and Fan (Rs 52.10 crore). The word of mouth seems to be pretty positive and that has reflected in the Box Office trend of the film.

Rustom is now sure to breach past the Rs 100 crore mark at the ticket window; however, the hold on collections on Monday will tell us if it stands a chance to become Akshay's biggest hit to date surpassing Rowdy Rathore.

The all India distribution rights were sold to Kumar Mangat for Rs 40 crore and by the end of its run, the film might attain super hit status.
