Housefull 3 Box-Office: This Akshay Kumar film is the second highest opener of 2016

Akshay Kumar's latest multi-starrer release, Housefull 3 had a fair opening day as the film raked in around Rs 15.21 crore on Friday at the Box Office.

The film opened with approximately 35% occupancy during the morning shows, however there wasn't a substantial growth towards the evening and late night shows thus restricting the possibility of being the highest opener of the year.

Housefull 3 has performed the best at Mumbai Circuit (thanks to the phenomenal collections in the Gujarat belt) followed by Delhi. Compared to the last two Housefull films, this one has failed to record good occupancy at the mass circuits.

The word-of-mouth of Housefull 3 is pretty mixed and the hold on Monday would decide fate of the film at the Box-Office. The movie is likely to remain steady on Saturday and witness a hefty jump in collections on Sunday.

The film budget was close to Rs 85 crore (excluding print and publicity) and it will be declared a hit at collections close to Rs 125-130 crore, which looks highly unlikely as of now.

The highest grossing comedy film in Bollywood is Ready ( with Rs 123 crore) followed by Housefull 2 (Rs 112 crore) and it would be interesting to see if Housefull 3 manages to challenge any of the above two films.
