Akshay confirmed, " Yes, I am a part of that film. However we are yet to decide about the shooting dates, etc. Most probably I will start shooting for it once I am done with Rustom, Robot 2 and Namastey England."
In Kaththi, Akshay Kumar will be seen essaying a double role, that of a thug and a post graduate in Hydrology. The film revolves around the sensitive issue of farmer suicides in India. While A R Murugadoss directed the original film, the Hindi remake will mark the debut of Jagan, who has assisted Murugadoss in the past.
This will be the second time Akshay Kumar will star in an AR Murugadoss remake, which starred Vijay in the original. The first one was Holiday, which was a smash hit. It will be interesting to see if Akshay recreates the same magic yet again with Ikka.
