After Jolly LLB 2, Akshay Kumar will start shooting for Ikka in 2017

After wrapping up the shooting for Robot 2.0 and Jolly LLB 2, Akshay Kumar will start shooting for Ikka, which is the official remake of Tamil superstar Vijay's Kaththi.

The film, which will mark the directorial debut of AR Murugadoss' associate, Jagan Shakti will go on floors in January/February 2017 and the shoot will be wrapped up in one go by April/May 2017. The film, which revolves around the issue of water scarcity, will largely be shot in Mumbai.

To be produced by AR Murugadoss, Ikka is currently being scripted and a final script narration will take place in the presence of Jagan, Akshay Kumar and AR Murugadoss post the release of Akira.

After Rowdy Rathore, Ikka will see Akshay Kumar in a dual role yet again, very different from what he has done in the past.

The rest of the star cast which includes a female lead and an actor in negative role will be finalised and announced close to the shooting date.

Insiders suggest the film will hit the big screen in mid-2017.
