Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slated for a worldwide release this Diwali, 28 October, 2016. However, as a mark of respect for Indian soldiers, the producers - Fox Star Studios - and Karan Johar, with mutual consent, have decided to stall the film's release in Pakistan. The decision came just a day before the scheduled screening of the film for the Pakistani censor board.

The much-anticipated romantic saga starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan faced backlash from political outfits in India post the Uri attacks, due to the presence of Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan in the film.

The entire controversy surrounding the film's release was recently solved with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis interfering in the matter.

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn's Shivaay has been cleared by the censor board in Pakistan and however the actor has decided to not release the film in the country. A few days ago, Devgn put forth his opinion about not working with Pakistani artistes due to the cross border tension.

The biggest hit till date at the Pakistan Box Office is Salman Khan's Sultan, which raked in Rs 33 crore in its lifetime run.
