Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday probing the firing on Sikh protesters by Police in Punjab’s Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan three years ago after a series of incidents of sacrilege of the Guru Granth Sahib.

However, Kumar has denied his meeting Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and the former deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal at the actor's flat in Mumbai in 2015.

Akshay Kumar name was added to a case after the Justice Ranjit Singh commission report claimed that he is having the connection with the release of the Dera chief’s movie ‘MSG’.

The SIT has asked Bollywood’s Khiladi to appear before it on 21st November at Amritsar circuit house. Later, police allowed him to appear him before SIT at Chandigarh.

In August, the commission report of Justice Ranjit Singh was presented in the Punjab Assembly and had given a reference of a letter written to it by former MLA Harbans Jalal.

Reportedly, the meeting was held before the Dera chief was pardoned in a blasphemy case.

Also, the movie of Dera chief Ram Rahim was not released in Punjab in September 2015 because of Akal Takht.
