Thanks to Siri for saving an 18-year-old boy who was trapped under an icy river in the US. Let us tell you the whole incident that happened with Gael Salcedo.
As per the reports, Gael’s car got off-road as soon as it hit an ice-covered slippery patch and went sliding into the lowa river. To save himself, he used his phone assistant, Siri, to call 911, which saved his life.
The complete information was shared by Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s office via press release which stated what happed to Gael on December 10, 2019.
According to the press release, “A 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee being operated by Gael Salcedo of Charles City was traveling north on County Road S-56. He encountered a snow-covered patch of the roadway just south of the bridge in that area. This caused him to lose control of the vehicle and travel into the east ditch.”
"Momentum caused the vehicle to travel over the embankment and into the river. Salcedo was then rescued by the Mason City Fire Department," release reads.
“I turned to the right and from there, everything just went blurry. I didn't know where I was going and then I just didn't know what to do. I was just thinking in my head, 'I think I'm going to die,” Gael told local media house.
Being in troublesome situation, Gael didn't lose his hope and search his phone to ask Siri to call 911. "I lost my phone and since I couldn't find it, I was like, 'Hey Siri, all 911'. And once Siri called, that's when I found my phone finally," he said.
After receiving the message, the Fire Department came to know about Gael and saved his life.
