Shahjahanpur brothers chop off sister's head for having an affair

There is no doubting Uttar Pradesh's notoriety with respect to crime, especially crimes against women.

In a shocking incident, two brothers enraged over the affair of their 17-year-old sister with their cousin, allegedly beheaded the girl and marched around the village with the severed, bleeding head.

The bizarre incident happened in Bamani Chowki village of the Shahjahanpur district on 17 August.

The gruesome incident and the culprits

• After spotting their sister outside the house of their cousin who had also spent the night there, the brothers Gul Hasan (25) and Nanhey Hasan (20) got enraged and they dragged her away and allegedly cut her head off with a chopper.
• Later they marched around the village with their sister's head, and were continuously saying, "Dekho, hamne apni behen ko maar dala aur pyar karney ki yehi sazaa hoti hai" (This is what happens as punishment for having an affair).

Investigation

• After the gruesome incident, a villager informed the police and before the culprits could be nabbed they went absconding with the victims head.
• Bablu Kumar, Superintendent of Police has said that the police will soon arrest the killers and special teams are being constituted for nabbing the culprits.
