The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is probing the Vyapam scam on 20 October served notices to at least 200 medicos for questioning.

Earlier named by the Special Task Force (STF) in the Vyapam scam, these medicos are out on bail. According to media reports, these medicos have been summoned in connection with PMT and Pre-PG exam anomalies of several years. The CBI has asked these medicos to report for questioning on different dates by the CBI team.

After assuming the high profile probe, CBI has for the first time summoned the accused in this quantity.

So far, the CBI has registered a preliminary enquiry and FIRs in around 113 cases pertaining to the Vyapam scam.

Recently, the CBI had questioned four middlemen lodged in Gwalior and had compiled information about their methodology and modus operandi.

The series of deaths have ceased after the CBI took over the investigation, however the mysterious death of a former IFS officer and ex-Vyapam Central Observer Vijay Bahadur has raised suspicions yet again.
