Lava Z50 with Android Oreo Go launched in India

Indian multinational handset-maker Lava launched LAVA Z50 -- one of the first smartphones that run the new Android Oreo (Go edition) operating system. The device, which will be priced around Rs 5,000, features a 4.5-inch display with 2.5D Curved Corning Gorilla Glass. It sports 5MP rear and front camera with flash.

"With LAVA Z50 powered by Android Oreo (Go edition), we are giving our first-time smartphone users an impeccable software designed for faster processing," Gaurav Nigam, Head-Product, Lava International, said in a statement.

The handset is powered by Mediatek Processor (MT6737m) with 1.1 GHz Quad-core coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. The smartphone offers a two-year warranty and will be available across retail stores by mid-March, the company said.

Commenting on the announcement, Gaurav Nigam, Head - Product, Lava International, said "With Lava Z50, powered by Android Oreo (Go edition), we are giving our first time smartphone users an impeccable software designed for faster processing, more memory at hand vs. non - Android Oreo (Go edition) phones, and the possibility to get entertainment through YouTube Go, to help users control their data. The Lava Z50 runs Android 8.1. The Lava Z50 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Accelerometer.
