Bengaluru (Karnataka): The Congress is all set to name Siddaramaiah as the next chief minister of Karnataka, with a formal announcement scheduled to be made at the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting in Bengaluru on Thursday evening.

Sources indicate that Siddaramaiah has been selected for the position of chief minister, while DK Shivakumar, the Karnataka Congress chief, will assume the role of Deputy Chief Minister.

The oath-taking ceremony for the new government is planned to take place in Bengaluru on May 20. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge intends to invite opposition leaders to attend the ceremony.
