Stephen Hawking, world-renowned physicist last year said that the President Trump’s decision to quit the Paris Climate Agreement could have catastrophic consequences for planet Earth.

In an interview last year, he said “We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible,”

He also added that Trump's action could push the earth over the threshold to become like Venus which has a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees and raining sulphuric acid.

He even predicted that climate change is going to be one of the greatest dangers that humanity is going to face in years to come.

However, he was optimistic that quick action could mitigate its impact. He said, "By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children.”

Stephen Hawking Paris Accord

The aim of the Paris accord is to reduce the global emissions. Limiting the worldwide temperatures from rising above 2°C.

75-year-old Hawking was pessimistic about the survival of the human race, he once said, "I fear evolution has inbuilt greed and aggression to the human genome. There is no sign of conflict lessening, and the development of militarized technology and weapons of mass destruction could make that disastrous,”

He even added that the best way survival of the human race would be independent colonies in space.
