On 31 December 2016, Mbah Goto celebrated a landmark that no one in recorded history has -- he turned 146 years old! Yes, you read that right, and while it can\'t be ascertained with absolute certainty, his Indonesian ID states that he was born on 31 December 1870.

Goto, bent with age and covered in wrinkles, celebrated his 146th birthday at his home town of Sragen in Central Java, Indonesia. His birthday was celebrated by his great grandson and other family members.

Thus far, Goto has outlived all 10 of his siblings, his four wives and all his children. He began preparing for his own death, even having a gravestone made, all the way back in 1992. Still, as of now, he has lived for a further 25 years.
