US President Joe Biden, the US army, and European Union are doing precious little to protect children, women and citizens of Afghanistan who are facing the onslaught of Taliban attacks.

Joe Biden has said he doesn't regret his decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan.

Is the US happy with the outcome?
Now the question is: What else will make Joe Biden regret his decision?
The Taliban is surging ahead and the worse affected are children and women.
Is this what the US expected to happen? If not, then why there is no regret.

US Failure to assess the ground reality?
If the Afghanistan army is finding it difficult to bear the onslaught of Taliban forces then it proves one major point: The US leadership and army failed to assess the ground realities or they decided to pack up knowing fully well the result of their winding up in haste.

Afghanistan burning but Biden claims planned US withdrawal
Mr Biden has urged Afghanistan's leaders to unite and "fight for their nation". But these requests serve no practical purpose.

Mr Biden should have ensured this while the soldiers were there standing with the Afghan army. Now Mr Biden wants to be satisfied that the US is providing air support, but fails to understand it serves really no significant purpose.

Going from bad to worse
The Taliban have taken at least eight of the country's 34 provincial capitals. Things are going to be much worse in the coming days.

Withdrawl a failure, peace completely shattered
Mr Biden is happy that commitments like providing close air support, paying military salaries and supplying Afghan forces with food and equipment are being met by the US. Well, what about women and children being displaced, people forced to live in make-shift tents, peasants not being able to sow their fields, and the normal life of citizens ruined. Is this what the US had promised when its forces set foot on Afghan soil twenty years back or decided to wind up now without a concrete plan for safety and peace in the area.

Joe Biden Can't shruff off the responsibility
Biden says, "They've got to fight for themselves."
Now the question is: If this is the response of the US, then they should not have been left alone in the first place.
This is not how a responsible nation should react when people are suffering and the US has a role in the outcome.

Need to question Joe Biden
The western media must question Joe Biden rather than simply reporting his version of the story.
Lives are at stake and so is the credibility of these military operations by western forces and government.
