UP: Woman kills self in front of her boyfriend's house; know shocking reason
A 26-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar ended her life by taking poison after alleging that she was sexually exploited by a man who had vowed to tie the knot with her but later declined, police said on Tuesday.
The doctors declared her dead soon after she was taken to a nearby hospital, police added.
The woman consumed poison on Monday outside the man's residence. The incident happened just a day before the man was about to marry another woman, as reported by PTI.
The now deceased had registered an FIR against the man on 20th November in which she had claimed that the duo was in love for the past seven months, Ramraj Police Station House Officer Satyendra Nagar stated.
In the FIR, the 26-year-old had also alleged that the man raped her by promising that he would marry her, but refused to do so, the SHO said.
As soon as the victim came to know that the man was going to marry another woman on 24th November.
Following that, the victim went to the man’s village in Jamalpur and killed herself by consuming poison outside his residence, police said. The man has been taken into custody on the charges of rape and a probe is underway, police added.
