UP: Drunk man irked over camera angle, killed videographer in wedding

A shocking case came to light from Firozabad where a happy environment at the wedding turned into gloomy. An intoxicated man shot dead a member of a videography team after arguing with the crew on Thursday.

The reason behind the squabble was the camera angle that videographer was taking while recording the wedding procession.

The incident took place at Darigapur village on 27 February. The accused has been identified as Satyendra Yadav who took out a double-barrel shotgun to shoot the two members of the videography team. Reportedly, one of the victims died due to the excessive bleeding while the other man sustained pellet injuries.

The deceased identified as Rohit Kumar (20) and the other as Satyendra Kumar. Later, Yadav and his accomplice fleed from the spot after firing at them.

An FIR has been filed against the accused under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the details given in the FIR, three members of the videography team including Dinesh Kumar, Rohit Kumar, and Satyendra Kumar were recording the wedding procession from a chair. The accused Yadav irked over their camera angle. Yadav and his accomplice came up to the crew and started behaving badly. Soon, Yadav took out his gun and opened fire at a crew member.

Police have launched an operation to nabbed the culprits.

On the other hand, the family of the deceased was protesting against the police for deliberately altered the status of the written complaint against the accused. The family claimed that they lodged an FIR under Section 302 (murder) and Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC. The police officials ‘changed’ it to “culpable homicide not amounting to murder”.
