UP: Bookseller tries to rape 10-year-old girl; know how she escapes

A shocking news was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur where a local bookseller tries to rape a 10-year-old girl. The incident took place on Monday when the girl visited his bookshop, however, the bookseller denies and calls it false allegation made by the minor.

As per reports, on Monday evening the minor girl had gone to the accused’s shop located in the Kalaan area to buy notebooks. During this time the accuse allegedly made an attempt to rape the minor, however, she managed to flee from the spot.


She ran straight to home and narrated her ordeal to her parents who on learning about the incident immediately approached the police. They went to the Kalaan police station and narrated the whole incident, police registered the complaint and arrested the accused.

During interrogation, the accused claimed that he didn’t make any such attempts towards the minor. On listening to his side of the story the police went to his shop to investigate and learnt that he did make an attempt towards the girl and collected the evidence against him.

The police have sent the accused to jail after a remand magistrate. Whereas the girl was sent for a medical examination and her statement was recorded under section 164 of the CrPC.
